The water main construction on Bridge Road will be completed next week. After that construction is complete, the roadway will be re-opened for traffic. Contract 8 work will continue on Hay Road next week. At the start of the week there will be miscellaneous work by the Contractor and by the Eastham DPW. By mid-week, water main related activities will begin.
Contract 6 - New Route 6 Work Zone Setup
The Contractor is scheduled to have their final work zone setup in place on Monday and Tuesday of next week, between the two intersections of Route 6 and Governor Prence Road. There will be a detour in place at Route 6 and Governor Prence Road. Traffic entering or exiting Governor Prence Road on the West side of Route 6 should use the paved section of Hay Road as a detour.
Additional Contracts with Active Construction:
Contracts 3 and 4 – Public water service and curb stop installations have continued in the landfill area. The installations will be continuing for the foreseeable future. Please expect work crews on Duck Marsh, Selah Circle, Chester Avenue, Forrest Avenue, Spinnaker Way and Nauset Road next week. Flushing, pressure testing, and disinfecting of the Contract 4 landfill area water mains is almost complete. Small crews will be performing minor construction work in the landfill area in order to facilitate the completion of the testing.
Throughout the work zones roads may be temporarily closed during work hours except for one lane alternating traffic for local resident access and buses. Other traffic will be detoured where possible to avoid delays and increase construction site and public safety. Normal construction hours are 7am to 5pm, Monday through Friday.
Contract 3, 4, 6, and 8 Residents:
If your residence abuts either Contracts 3, 4, 6, or 8 water main construction and you have not specified your preferred curb stop location, please email “firstname.lastname@example.org” (this is not a webpage) with your preferred curb stop location or any questions.
We appreciate your patience and cooperation during this very important public construction project.
